Fifteen and Fifteen
We are looking for 15 friends to inaugurate PAS coliving for 15 days. We want to start the space accompanied, with people who can give us direct feedback and good suggestions, who can help us continue redesigning the garage to turn it into a better coworking place, who can take care of the space, the garden and the animals with us, who can help us take good photos and provide us with the first testimonies, who can find a place where we can work remotely for a couple of weeks and watch life go by.
We are going to start this pilot for free, yes, I said it right, free. I am not really a big fan of free at all, in fact, most of our programs and experiences have a cost, which is usually related to a higher level of effort and commitment from the interested person. In this case, the experience offers a lot of value that does not correspond to the price. We believe in other forms of capital and we explore the economy of generosity. For this reason, the payment method is not with economic capital, but with something more important, the valuable time of the people interested in joining us.
During these two weeks, we will invite these people to work with us for a few hours, helping us to think about the usability of each space and the overall design of the coliving experience in Cantabria, also to understand the needs of coworking, validate the rituals and dynamics of daily life, holding some ideation sessions to co-create new corners and work spaces. There will be time to plant or pick something in the garden, to take care of the chickens and rabbits, to use the workspace or workshop.
In that sense, I think it is a unique coliving experience for the visitor, since they have the opportunity to experience the start-up of a social enterprise, in addition to enjoying accommodation in a wooden cabin in Valles Pasiegos that the “health authorities” surely recommend, accessing spaces to work surrounded by nature, numerous beach, river and mountain plans, connection with members of the local community, events and visits to entrepreneurs in the area.
We are looking for 15 profiles of teleworkers, creatives and designers, makers and social, environmental or cultural entrepreneurs, changemakers or people committed to working for the common good. Ideally, they should be diverse people, from different countries, cultures and customs, who can be enriched by working and sharing in a common space for a few weeks, accompanied by the hosts and the local community, creating the necessary conditions to help build a community.
If I start dreaming, we are actually looking to develop the first batch of ambassadors of the place. Although we have the privilege of having already piloted the project and enjoying the love and appreciation of numerous entrepreneurs from all over Europe, it is true that we are changing location, and we are going to turn the new farm and the cabins into a home. The idea is that people can find their home here, their local family, a place where they feel comfortable, where they receive support and authentic connections, where friendships and relationships are created over time, where joy springs up and life projects are dreamed of, where other forms of wealth and capital can be experienced, where the economy of generosity and acts of kindness can be practiced in everyday life.
What we are clear about is that we are NOT looking for people interested in tourism, in enjoying a holiday, people who come without objectives or projects, who come to visit looking to receive instead of contributing, who want a cheap holiday and go to the beach every day. We are not looking for tourists, but we are not very interested in a digital nomad who is just doing dropshipping, who doesn’t care about people and the planet, who only seeks his own benefit and that of his company.
