These weeks we continue to shape coliving with the constitution of the cooperative society, also finalizing details to open the account with Fiare and organazing the trip to Ghana, that it´s almost there.

We are learning about the sector with great friends and professionals like Edo from Sende, Agus from Anceu and Juan from Rooral, pioneers and references with many hours of flight designing experiences and creating unique spaces. This learning journey with people I admire and who are managing to make a living from their project, making their dream come true is a luxury. Without a doubt, that energy is contagious, that optimism sticks like grease, that light lights up those around them, it is impossible to see the glass half empty when you are around.

It is very gratifying to live this spirit of collaboration, camaraderie and honest desire to help, to do well, to see you succeed. Only this part of the trip is worth it, it gives meaning to life, it is amazing. In a world where competition, greed, posturing and deception abound, we are fortunate to find travel companions, allies, collaborators, ambassadors, a whole world of opportunities, to create valuable experiences, transformative products and a unique space, a laboratory of life, a place where you can look inward, where you can get closer to a village, where you can connect with nature, where you can slow down, where you can review your purpose, where you can be inspired and calm down, where you can gain strength to move forward.

These first steps and conversations are helping us to know that we are not very far away, that we are already doing it, that even though it is the first formal coliving that we open, we know a lot about this. From our experience in hospitality, in my case having a bar and in Lulu’s case working in a creperie, we learned about service, about dealing with people, about resolving conflicts and managing stress, about taking care of people.

Also very valuable for this project is everything learned designing volunteer experiences in countries like Ghana, or the learning journeys we prototipe in Colombia, or volunteer trips to India or Chiapas. Other experiences that give us hours of flight have been events, such as the Caña Social, the annual Summit or recently Regenera Local. But without a doubt the experience that has helped us the most has been The Break program in Cantabria, where we already operate a pop up Coliving, renting a rural house, organizing a calendar of activities, designing memorable experiences. About 70 people have visit us in four groups in these two years, and we have achieved a master’s degree. From cooking with people, to renting bikes or cars to improve logistics and transportation, to organizing a beach cleanup or a Hackathon to accelerate the impact economy in Cantabria.

When I look back I also greatly value my nomadic experience for several years, the numerous trips made, the stays in hundreds of places, the luxuries and the moments where I was in need, the great challenges of living with different people in the same place and space of time, so we have half the way covered and we continue walking straight.
