Writing
I don’t really know why I’m writing this post, if Chat gpt already writes everything. I think it’s to express what I feel, sometimes joy or sometimes anger. I know that these lines help me process it, to reflect on it, to think out loud, sometimes even to better understand what has happened, what I have felt, what I have needed, because everything goes by so fast.
I write to myself, I face the blank page, the emptiness of filling the space. Sometimes it’s hard to get going, but then the words just flow. I think that routine is important, forcing myself to do it, to a certain extent also a wish. It’s a blank column that no national newspaper or impact magazine offered me, it’s a toast to the sun with myself, it’s a story that perhaps no one is interested in, it’s an anecdote or a small gesture without being too serious.
This week I resist writing about Black Friday or Christmas. By the way, I always have doubts when it starts; If it is when the lights come on, when it snows, when nougat ads come out or Coca-Cola sells happiness and “the American way of life” or whenever you want.
In this space I aspire to connect universal values in an everyday story, I aspire to get closer to coherence knowing that just as utopia is never close, but it is useful to walk, and as you get closer it moves away. In this space I also try to be brief because I have little time first thing in the morning on Thursdays. I try to let it flow without having to dedicate more time during the week, so that it does not become a task, as the management of social networks and their accounts was in its day. We closed the meta and twitter accounts a long time ago before they disappeared.
To publish these lines I use medium and linkedin, two accounts that I still maintain to stay connected to the Matrix and send a signal in this world that invites us to the digital metaverse. I certainly prefer red wines and sobaos, slow-cooked conversations or after-dinner conversations, but I make a lot of use of Zoom and other video conferencing platforms. I am clear that all online tools and strategies have to serve me to connect in an authentic way, to try to go offline and build lasting relationships. I continue to schedule mentoring sessions and coffees every week and share links and contacts of interest with the people who approach me.
This post also serves as a filter for me, because I am sure that there will be many people who are not interested in it, who do not feel that it is for them, who think differently or are not interested in these topics. Just like the copy of a website, you attract or alienate people, some sometimes even dare to visit you to get to know you, others however stop reading you. In reality, I do not represent anything and I try not to sell, to write because I feel like it and I want to tell something about everyday life.
My way of life gave me at least one advantage over those who are forced to look outside in order to have fun, .. , because my own life became my fun and never stopped bringing me new things.
Henry David Thoreau
I have no editorial line, no content calendar, no number of characters, and I don’t stick to a style. I put my fingers on the keys and let them move to the rhythm of my thoughts and ideas. I think that just like with lectures, which no matter how much one prepares them, I always feel that the words come out, that it is something superior, that there is not much explanation, that trying to put this mystical experience into words is a mistake, the same thing happens to me with texts.
So, if you have reached the end of this reflection and feel that you are missing something, grab your computer, start writing using the keyboard or in your diary and you will soon understand what I am talking about. Writing has many benefits, I am not going to mention them, but I do invite you to practice and find your voice in the text to communicate your message to others.
And you… Do you write from time to time?
